Philippine Mechanical Engineering Code 2012

The Philippine Mechanical Engineering code will be printed and available early 2012. Pre-ordering for the hardbound edition of the code is currently on-going.
Please contact our PSME Batangas East Chapter Treasurer if you are interested in a copy (hardbound or soft cover).

It is recommended that each engineering office in the Philippines should have at least one copy of the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Code for reference and to consult in the course of their work activities

Alternative Power Solutions Conducts Technical Training

Alternative Power Solutions conducted a technical training presentation for the PSME Batangas East Chapter on November 25, 2011.


Our PSME Batangas East chapter engineers thank Mr. Gerald L.Castillo for his assistance in making this possible.

Members from the different companies comprising the PSME Batangas East Chapter were very interested in the program. The participanting companies included Nestlé, Maxim-IC, FODC, Sunpower and SPPS.

The training presentation on infrared thermography techniques was conducted by Mr. Ron Newport, an electrical engineer from the Institute of Infrared Thermography in Canada. He showed the varied possibilities and application procedures in using it for the predictive maintenance system.

After on short session, he proceeded to the IIEE annual convention the next day to conduct another lecture on the subject. He has been teaching predictive maintenance courses for several years now will be inviting us for a full course in the future.

Sumitomo Cyclo Drive Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, a division of Sumitomo Heavy Industries conducted a seminar on regarding Sumitomo Drive Technologies at the PSME Batangas East Chapter last October , 2011 in Tanauan, Batangas.

PSME Annual Convention 2011

The PSME Batangas East chapter visited our sister (PSME Makban) chapter on July, 2011.

Showcase of the rocks in the area

At the time of our visit, the geothermal power plant was newly overhauled and operating at peak capacity. The PSME Batangas East chapter members had a very good opportunity to learn on the installation and operation the power plant

Birth of PSME Batangas East Chapter

The PSME Batangas East chapter was founded from meetings in Lipa city by Nestlé and Strategic Engineers

A preliminary meeting was initially held at The Dish Restaurant with Engr. Roger Reyes and Engr. Albert Recla at the end of March. This was followed soon after by the meeting of mechanical engineers at the Nestlé Lipa Factory on April 15, 2011. An election for the PSME Batangas East Chapter was held on this day. The elected officers for the PSME Batangas East Chapter 2011 are as follows :
